This chart describes at what age your child should be able to say certain sounds.
For example, if your child is 5 years old they should be able to say all younger sounds and sounds r, zh, th (voiced). These sounds are in the following words: red, jaw, brother.
Please note that French speech sounds develop differently than English sounds. Please see below for French sound development.
2 - 3 years
Should be able to say: p, b, m, d, n, h, t, k, g, w, ng, f, y sounds
5 years
Should be able to say: r, zh, and th (voiced like in "that"),
4 years
Should be able to say; l, j, ch, s, v, sh, z sounds.
6 years
Should be able to say: th (voiceless like in "thumb"),

For example, if your child is 5 years old they should be able to say all younger sounds and sounds: gn, hu, b, d, and r. These sounds are in the following words: beigne, huit, balle, dent, rouge.

4 years
Should be able to say; t, k, f, w, g, v, and l sounds.

Should be able to say: y, s, ch, ge.
